Brief info
Dr. Michael Weltzin is a Biologist. He studied biology at the Technical University in Aachen, Germany, with an emphasis on environmental technologies. After he was awarded his degree, he worked as a scientific assistant at the Institute for Hygiene and Environmental Medicine. In 2002 he received his doctorate in microbiological groundwater remediation technologies.
Since 2002, Michael has worked as a policy advisor in the German Bundestag to, for example, the spokeswomen for environmental policy for the Parliamentary Group of Alliance 90 / German Green Party. Currently, Michael is the Senior Scientific Advisor for Climate Policy for the German Green Party.
In addition, Michael is a lecturer at the Beuth-University for Applied Science in Berlin, where he teaches courses in Circular Economy, Waste Treatment, and Resource Saving Strategies. Prior to this he was a lecturer at the UI Jakarta and the FU Berlin, teaching courses in Climate Change and European Environmental Policy to graduate students.
Michael’s main working fields or expertise are climate change, waste and water treatment, chemistry, and renewable resources.
