European Legislative Study Mission 2022 – Moving away from Landfilling and why it is key to reducing Environmental and Economic Impacts

IERM is organizing a study mission for legislators and policy makers to Germany and Belgium for 2022. The first stop will be Berlin, where participants will learn from their counterparts about key waste management legislation and policies. These sessions will be coupled with field trips, where attendees will see sustainable practices in action, and will gain an in-depth understanding of why moving away from landfilling of municipal solid waste has resulted in lower fees for citizens than those in the US.

From Berlin, participants will travel to Brussels, headquarters of the European Union. There, they will have discussions with EU legislators and policy makers on why moving away from landfilling is a critical component in the development of a circular economy, and how it leads to economic Gains and environmental sustainability.

This is a “must attend” event for legislators, policy makers, and anyone interested in protecting our air, water and soil.
